How can we help?
Troubleshooting
Something not working?
My times differ from my local mosque
Open Settings and choose the calculation method your mosque or national authority uses, and check the Asr method (Shafi'i or Hanafi). Mosques sometimes add a few minutes of precaution, so small differences of 1–3 minutes are normal.
I'm not getting adhan notifications
Check that notifications are allowed in iOS Settings → Noor → Notifications, and that the prayer’s bell is on in Noor. Focus modes can hold back alerts — allow Time Sensitive notifications for Noor in your Focus settings. Open Noor once in a while so it can schedule the next two weeks of alerts.
The Qibla direction looks wrong
Hold your phone flat and away from magnets, metal and laptop chargers. If iOS asks you to calibrate the compass, move your phone in a figure-eight. Make sure Noor has the right location, since the direction is calculated from it.
The widget isn't updating
Widgets refresh at each prayer time. If yours looks stuck, open Noor once (it refreshes widgets when your settings or location change), or remove and re-add the widget.
Noor shows the wrong city
Turn on Current location in Noor’s Settings and allow location access, or turn it off and pick your city manually with the city search.
Questions
Asked often.
Is Noor free?
Yes. Noor is free to download and use, with every feature included — no ads, no subscriptions and no account required.
How can I support Noor?
If Noor helps you pray on time, you can leave an optional one-time tip in the app: open Settings → Support Noor and choose a tip. Tips are processed by Apple, help keep Noor free and ad-free, and don’t unlock anything. Sharing Noor with family and friends, or rating it on the App Store, helps just as much.
Which calculation method should I use?
Choose the method your local mosque or national authority follows — for example Kemenag in Indonesia, Umm al-Qura in Saudi Arabia, ISNA in North America, or Muslim World League as a widely used default. You can change it at any time in Settings, along with the Asr method (Shafi'i or Hanafi).
Does it work offline?
Yes. Prayer times and the Qibla bearing are calculated on your iPhone, so they work without a connection. The internet is only used to look up your city's name.
Which countries are supported?
Noor calculates times from your coordinates rather than a fixed list of cities, so it works anywhere. Pick the calculation method that matches your local convention.
